Mary's Spotlight

Our Story:
Some of the projects we do are just for us, and what could be better than that? Especially when it's with the person that you get to say "Love You Madly" to on the daily! (That’s also the title of our favorite Cake song that we danced to at our wedding!) Mary, sometimes referred to as my Executive Producer, Second Shooter, and my wife, has been Crafty Lab Films' biggest supporter and inspiration. She's there when I need reassurance, gives me feedback when I need it, is a hand model in a pinch, and is the person who will support my wildest, weirdest ideas! This page is also the kind of thing that she'll say "maybe you shouldn't put that on the website," but what’s the point in running your own company if you can’t use it to talk about your amazing partner?

Fun factoid (depending on how you look at it): We came up with the name "Crafty Lab Films" on New Year's Day while hiking and soul-searching around White Sands, NM, after we were both laid off (within days of one another) just after Thanksgiving. There's no one I'd rather camp with in the back of a Subaru on a cross-country road trip!

When I proposed to Mary, I wanted it to be special, and I needed an excuse to set up a camera on a tripod so she wouldn't be suspicious. So I said, "Let's make a video where we walk towards each other and high-five while teleporting across New Zealand!" What she didn't know was that I was using my lens caps as a ring box.

Life has been a continuous adventure with her, and I can't wait for what's next!
